Religion in plural

14 July 2010

This article forms the theological background of John Veldman's research into Catholic development cooperation. Cordaid asked Veldman to explore the fundamental changes and shifts in paradigm within the organisations thinking about religion and development.

Veldman states that the approach of this subject  has to be fundamentally pluralistic, beyond exclusivism and inclusivism. There is a genuine Catholic perception of truth, but truth cannot be claimed as exclusive Catholic. In the next fase, Veldman will elaborate some tools to help Cordaid to operationalise more the meaning of religion in her work.

The article is written in Dutch.
